Soft Sugar Cookies


2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup margarine
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
4 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cooking Directions

Cream sugar and margarine until blended. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until light and fluffy. Mix the bakeing soda and buttermilk. stir well and set aside.
Sift remaining dry ingredients and add the liquid and dry ingredients alternately to batter. Add vanilla and beat until smooth batter forms.
Drop on lightly greased cookie sheet by tablespoonfuls. Bake at 375 until lightly browned around the edges. Sprinkle sugar over top as soon as they come from the oven.
Let them cool a little and enjoy
