How to pick the perfect cake topper

Wedding Anniversary Customs In some cases the name of the anniversary gift provides guidance for the appropriate or traditional gift to give, If you decide to throw a party or gathering these things can be brought by the guest or influence the theme or decorations. Keep in mind that these gifts tend to vary in different countries, but deep-rooted connections now mutual to most nations: 5th Wooden, 10th Tin, 15th Crystal, 20th China, 25th Silver, 30th Pearl, 40th Ruby, 50th Golden, 60th Diamond.

Its believed that the tradition was started in Medieval Germany where, if a married couple lived to celebrate their twenty fifth anniversary, the wife’s friends and neighbors would then present her with a silver wreath. This was done for several reasons, to congratulate them for the good fortune that had prolonged the lives of the couples for so many years, and to recognize the fact they must have enjoyed a fairly pleasant relationship. When celebrating the fiftieth the wife received a wreath of gold. These anniversaries were known as the silver wedding-day and the golden wedding-day. In the United Kingdom a diamond was the known symbol for the 75th anniversary, but this changed to the more common 60th anniversary after Queen Victoria’s 60 years on the throne was widely marked as her “Diamond Jubilee”.

The symbols have changed over the years but, the German tradition is known for assigning gifts that directly connect with each stage of marriage.
